ZO Medium Peels / ZO 3-Step Peel
This is the big daddy of peels!
Benefits
A medium depth peel can penetrate the outer and middle layers of skin to remove damaged skin cells. They can improve skin pigmentation such as freckles, melasma and age spots and moderate skin discolouration, fine lines and wrinkles. It also can be used to smooth rough skin and treat skin growths such as actinic keratosis (chicken skin).
With a medium intensity peel, you may experience a slight stinging sensation when the Peel is applied. Your skin may also go slightly brown or red in the days following the treatment and can take up to 6 weeks to return to normal. Although, you only need to return every 6 – 12 months to maintain its benefits.
What is the 3-Step Peel?
The ZO 3 Step Peel is notable for its ability to treat concerns and conditions as diverse as acne, melasma, sun damage, fine lines and issues with tone and texture; the ZO 3 Step Peel is suitable for all skin types and has consistently demonstrated itself to be a safe and effective way of restoring the skin to its optimum condition with little to no downtime. As with other chemical peels, the ZO 3 Step Peel completely strips away the outermost layers of skin, removing blemishes and irregularities to reveal a fresher, clearer and brighter layer below.
Is it painful?
Whilst not explicitly painful, patients often report experiencing a stinging sensation when this Peel is applied to their skin. This should subside within a few minutes. Your skin can swell, peel or become red and flaky for a short period after your treatment.
How long does this treatment take?
This treatment usually takes around 60 minutes to complete.
How does this work?
As its title suggests, this chemical peel takes place in three stages.
1 - Beginning with the removal of the upper layers of skin
2 – The treatment then focuses on accelerating the process of cellular renewal and stimulating the production of collagen to leave the skin smoother, firmer and free from patches of pigmentation, prominent wrinkles and the appearance of acne.
3 - To finish, powerful antioxidants and products designed to restore the skin’s natural moisture and barrier function are applied to the skin - this suppresses inflammation and protects the skin against future damage.
Will I see results straight away?
In most cases, yes. Many patients should be able to see a noticeable change in their skin condition immediately after treatment. This improvement can be maintained by sticking to the rigid aftercare regime recommended by one of our skincare specialists and by booking in for a 3 Step Stimulation Peel at least once a month.
