It's been a rollercoaster of a year for everyone going through a global pandemic, but for us at SO Aesthetics, we feel it's been the making of us!
If you've been a long-time customer of ours, you'll know that just last year we were a small but extremely busy clinic with only two treatment rooms at our Worcester location.
We have always been passionate about our customers journeys and how we are a medically-led clinic offering the best treatments in the area, so it made sense for SO Aesthetics to also get its own Glow Up!
In September 2020 started to look at our marketing and took on local digital marketing consultant, Hannah Al-Khaldi and also worked with a top branding specialist, Kerry Collinge who is a long-time friend of Dr Matt's.
Days and hours were spent with the specialists revitalising our brand, our logo, and our look and feel, so when we became aware that the two units next door to our clinic were suddenly becoming available from October 2020 we decided it was a sign and the perfect way to roll out our new brand!
Our builder Jay and his team came in and got started straight away, and we carried on running appointments with all the work going on next door. Despite another lockdown in November we carried on, bringing in the new signage by Sign Here Worcester and planning our expanded treatment offering. In the meantime we had our new website being designed and built, plus our brand new booking system was set up to create a seamless method for our customers to access appointments.
Fast forward to yet another lockdown in January 2021, it was time to make a tough decision. As we are a medical clinic, we could have stayed open under the lockdown rules, launched our beautiful new treatment spaces anyway and carried on offering appointments for essential medical treatment such as botox for migraines, mole and skin tag removal etc. But morally we felt the only decision was to keep the clinic closed despite our excitement at showing everyone the new space.
The right thing to do was to be part of the national lockdown effort, stay closed whilst the R-rate was still so high, and to also ensure that our medical expertise was put in the right places. Dr Matt concentrated on his work as a General Practitioner, supporting his patients in the local community when they needed him most, whilst Nicola, an experienced critical care nurse went back to work on the frontline in the Covid Intensive Care Unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
When April 12th came around, we were over the moon to be able to throw open our doors and show everyone the new clinic and treatment rooms designed by the super stylish Megan Ace and also welcome people back in for their treatments. Finishing touches were supplied by Jungle Club Worcester with their amazing foliage to give the clinic the right look and feel our customers deserve when they come in to see us. Despite not being able to have a big opening party, the feedback and amazing support we have received from our customers has been incredible and we are so happy you enjoy our new space.
We have also been able to bring in new members to our team, such as Diane Porterfield-Bourne as a Menopause specialist, Maria to join Julie to expand our popular Hydrafacial appointment availability, and also Orthopaedic Consultant Surgeon Mr Andrew Pearse who offers joint-pain relieving injections. And of course the amazing Helen was in her element being back front of house, whipping everyone into shape and making sure you all felt welcome back in the clinic.
Through all of this, it was a truly special moment to find out we had been nominated as an Aesthetics Awards finalist for best clinic in the Midlands. We feel our clinic has been through a period of transformation through a turbulent time, so whilst it might not be the best time to have been nominated, it was by far the biggest reminder that what we have been working towards has all been worth it. The Awards ceremony is being live-streamed tomorrow night due to Covid, but we will be having our own private red-carpet event in clinic and we will finally be able to have a little party to celebrate the past year. Whatever the result tomorrow night, we are over the moon with how far things have come and we are excited for what the next year holds.
From your proud clinic owners,
Matt and Nicola! X
